About Judy Sandy

Are you looking for a Counselor in Lafayette IN

Judy M. Sandy LCSW LCAC is a licensed clinical social worker with 30 years of experience in Mental Health, Family Services and Private Practice settings with a variety of people including disabled and culturally diverse populations. She believes her role is about helping you cope while also helping you develop skills for managing and overcoming life challenges. These are skills that serve you for a lifetime, not just in times of acute stress. She especially enjoys facilitating adult therapy groups and serving as a family counselor.

Judy has recently begun working extensively with military personnel coming back from deployment in a war zone. After a person has spent time in such a setting, it is not uncommon for them to suffer from PTSD or other serious mental health problems. Understandably, they face substantial challenges with trying to effectively integrate back into normal society. Many war veterans experience anxiety when trying to deal with day to day life. Many battle with depression and suicidal ideation. The fairly sudden transition to civilian life that is typical today can be jarring, and what's where Judy comes in.
In addition to being a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Judy is a Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor. She is also a member of both the National Association of Social Workers and the Indiana chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.
